Avodahtec was founded to close a critical gap between technical excellence and strategic impact.
The firm’s story begins with Dr. Olugbenga Ibikunle, our primary Founder and Managing Principal, whose nearly two-decade career spans engineering, infrastructure, and executive leadership across Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and Canada. From the outset, his work has been driven by a single question: how can complex systems be made to work better, technically, economically, and sustainably?
That curiosity was shaped through technology and engineering studies at Federal Polytechnic Ilaro and Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria, advanced by an MSc in Environmental Engineering and Project Management at the University of Leeds, and solidified with a PhD in Civil Engineering from Heriot-Watt University. Together, these experiences built deep technical rigor and a lasting commitment to infrastructure resilience and environmental stewardship.
As his career progressed across Canada and international projects, a clear pattern emerged: many initiatives fell short not because of weak engineering, but because they lacked alignment with business strategy, organizational priorities, and long-term value creation. To bridge that divide, Dr. Ibikunle completed an MBA at the Alberta School of Business, specializing in strategy and consulting, expanding his perspective from technical problem-solving to enterprise-level decision-making.
Avodahtec was born from that convergence.
