Dr. Nayab Sultan is a senior public health, occupational hygiene, and environmental health specialist with more than 35 years of international experience supporting complex infrastructure, extractive, and industrial projects. His expertise spans epidemiology, respiratory health, industrial hygiene, environmental science, and exposure assessment, with a strong focus on the scientific rigor, defensibility, and regulatory integrity of monitoring programs and reporting.
Dr. Sultan provides independent technical oversight across hazard identification, exposure monitoring, and health risk evaluation. His work is distinguished by integrating field-based sampling methodologies with applied public health research, ensuring that data generated in operational environments meet the highest standards of scientific validity, quality assurance, and regulatory acceptance.
His career includes senior health and safety leadership roles on major infrastructure programs exceeding USD $4 billion in British Columbia, as well as the design and oversight of large-scale occupational health studies involving more than two million mine workers across sub-Saharan Africa. Dr. Sultan holds advanced postgraduate qualifications from the Universities of Birmingham and Hull, and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in recognition of his contributions to global education and capacity-building in occupational health.
